The Serbian Society of Soil Science operates at the national, regional and global levels, with the belief that unity within SDPZ naturally continues through cooperation with related associations, in the shared effort to protect soil.
The Serbian Society of Soil Science is a member of the following international organisations:
International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS)
The IUSS is the global umbrella organisation of scientific societies in the field of soil science, founded in 1924 in Rome. It brings together more than 86 national and regional societies and around 55,000 scientists and professionals worldwide, with the aim of advancing all branches of soil science, encouraging international cooperation and promoting the application of soil research. The IUSS organises the World Congress of Soil Science, supports the work of commissions and working groups, and provides a global platform for knowledge exchange and the standardisation of scientific approaches.

European Confederation of Soil Science Societies (ECSSS)
The ECSSS is a European regional organisation, established in 2004, that brings together national soil science societies from across Europe. It encourages cooperation and coordination among European societies and scientists in all branches of soil science and their application.

Federation of Eurasian Soil Science Societies (FESSS)
The FESSS is a regional federation established in 2012 as a result of cooperation among societies from Turkey, Russia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. It was later expanded to include other countries of the region, including Serbia. The FESSS promotes knowledge exchange and joint activities in the field of soil science across the Eurasian region and supports regional cooperation among scientific societies.

In addition to its membership in international and regional organisations, the Serbian Society of Soil Science also develops cooperation through the signing of agreements and memoranda of cooperation with related organisations.
During the international scientific meeting Soil Science Days, held in September 2024 in Liptovský Ján, Slovakia, the presidents of the Czech Soil Science Society, Česká pedologická společnost, ČPS, and the Serbian Society of Soil Science, SDPZ, Prof. Dr Bořivoj Šarapatka and Dr Jovica Vasin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
This document establishes relations between the two societies aimed at encouraging direct contacts and cooperation among the members of their communities, with the purpose of:
- exchange of researchers;
- joint organisation of courses, excursions, conferences and seminars;
- encouragement of joint research projects.
