THE MISSION of the Serbian Society of Soil Science is to develop and advance soil science and its application for the purpose of soil protection, conservation and sustainable management. The Society connects science, practice, education, decision-makers and the wider community, guided by the belief that soil conservation is one of the most important issues for a sustainable future. Through research, professional work, education, cooperation and public engagement, SDPZ contributes to a better understanding of the importance of soil and advocates for its responsible use, restoration and protection.
THE OBJECTIVES of the Serbian Society of Soil Science are to:
- connect science, practice, education, the civil sector and decision-makers in joint action for soil conservation and restoration;
- encourage research and the application of knowledge about soil;
- contribute to the protection of soil, nature and biodiversity;
- strengthen cooperation in the country and abroad;
- support the development of young scientists and professionals;
- provide professional and science-based proposals for improving policies and practices in the field of soil.
